White House Webinar: What Human Services Agencies Need to Know about the Child Tax Credit
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expanded the Child Tax Credit (CTC) to put more dollars into the pockets of parents and caregivers in the form of monthly payments of the credit from July to December 2021. Experts estimate the new CTC has the potential to cut child poverty in half. It provides the largest child tax credit ever, providing advanced payments of up to $300 per month per child up to age 6 and up to $250 per month per child ages 6 to 17.

Millions of individuals who do not normally file income taxes are eligible for payments but may not be receiving the credit unless they have provided their information to the IRS. Many of these households interact with human services agencies and their community providers. Join the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the National Association of County Human Services Administrators (NACHSA) for a webinar from the White House on the expanded CTC and a training on using the Non-Filer Portal to directly assist eligible families with enrollment.

This webinar will be geared towards managers and staff on the front lines interacting with clients and partner organizations and will include a Q&A with Treasury and White House staff.
